intermediate piping Designer

Cornerstone Engineering, 1144 29th Ave NE, Calgary, AB. Canada
Office-based, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work within the Piping Design group.

  • Assist in the creation and revision of Plot Plans, PFD’s, P&ID’s, Piping Layouts, Piping Plans, Piping Sections, and Isometrics using CAD software, following engineering standards, codes, and project specifications.

  • Complete 3D models using CADWorx Plant and Equipment.

  • Work closely with design team members to ensure design documents are completed according to

    deadlines.

  • Stay updated on CAD software tools, techniques, and best practices for piping drafting, and seek

    opportunities for professional development and growth in the field.

  • Collaborate with senior drafters, designers, and engineers to assist in the development of detailed piping

    designs for projects including process piping, and facility layouts.

  • Perform other technical duties to support project delivery.

  • Conduct site visits to complete as-builts, identify tie-in locations, and gather relevant information.

     

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or Process Piping Drafting.

  • 5 - 10 years of piping design experience in the oil and gas or related industry: EPCM experience is an asset.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and CADWorx.

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of programs used to create reports and documents.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry piping standards and codes (ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM, CSA, etc.)

  • BlueBeam Revu experience an asset.

  • Experience with 3D scanning and processing software would be an asset.
