
Intermediate Process Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct process simulations, feasibility studies, and technical analyses to optimize production processes, including wellsite facilities, pipelines, compressor stations, gas plants, and conventional oil facilities.
Design and develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and process equipment specifications using engineering software tools.
Perform heat and mass balance calculations, hydraulic calculations, and pressure drop analyses to ensure efficient and safe operation of process systems.
Perform detailed sizing calculations in support of procurement, design and troubleshooting efforts.
Specify and select process equipment, instrumentation, and control systems to meet project requirements and industry standards, considering factors such as performance, reliability, and cost.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, to integrate process designs with overall project requirements and objectives.
Provide mentoring, assistance and guidance to Junior Process Engineers.
Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety reviews to identify and mitigate process hazards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Provide technical support and guidance to field personnel, operators, and maintenance teams in troubleshooting process issues, optimizing system performance, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project discussions to provide input, insights, and recommendations on process engineering aspects of oil and gas projects.
Conduct research and stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in process engineering for oil and gas applications and incorporate innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and performance.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 7 years of Process Engineering experience.
Chemical Engineering degree with P.Eng. designation or eligibility for APEGA.
O&G Experience in Western Canada preferred.
Familiarity with aspects of process design software such as Symmetry, HYSYS and ProMax
Possess a strong attention to detail and work well within a team environment.
