Junior Process Engineer

Cornerstone Engineering, 1144 29th Ave NE, Calgary, AB. Canada
Office-based, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Intermediate/Senior Engineers to develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications for oil and gas facilities.

  • Work with the team to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing safety in oil and gas processes.

  • Utilize process simulation software (such as Symmetry, HYSYS or similar) to model and analyse process performance under different operating conditions.

  • Support troubleshooting efforts for process-related issues in operating facilities and assist in implementing corrective actions.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of engineering designs, calculations, and analyses. Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations as required.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing oil and gas operations.

  • Prepare process calculations under the supervision of Senior Process Engineers.

  • Provide support to project teams during the execution of engineering projects, including procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

  • Participate in process safety reviews, hazard assessments, and environmental impact assessments to ensure safe and environmentally responsible operations.

  • Stay updated with latest developments in process engineering.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant engineering experience.

  • Chemical Engineering degree with eligibility for membership with APEGA.

  • Familiarity with aspects of process design software such as Symmetry, HYSYS and ProMax.

  • Possess a strong attention to detail and work well within a team environment.
