Senior Project Manager

If you have experience in the oil and gas industry and have client contacts who could use Cornerstone's expertise, then this full time permanent position is a very exciting opportunity! This candidate will work in various aspects of the oil and gas industry, from project inception to completion on large scale projects, including: Gas Plants, Oil Batteries, and Pipeline Gathering Systems. The Senior Project Manager will guide a team of engineering staff to successfully complete projects together. Some travel may be required to operating oil and gas facilities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Main Duties and Competencies The Senior Project Manager interacts with a multi- disciplinary team. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the successful completion of the project. Key duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as senior project manager and/or project expert on major projects
  • Approve specifications, bid package preparation/evaluation, and procurement
  • Review and approve vendor drawings and provide fabrication/technical support
  • Approve piping design and coordinate piping material procurement
  • Approve drawings from a mechanical standpoint – IFB, IFC and As-built packages
  • Review and submit project schedule and deliverables to the client
  • Act as primary liaison during weekly client meetings
  • Calculating engineering costs and submitting monthly reports to clients
  • Communicate with Inspectors in the field and ensure construction is on schedule
  • Design/specification of mechanical systems and materials, technical selection, sizing and evaluation of equipment
  • Participate in design reviews and HAZOPS
  • Represents the company in client relationships
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Civil) with P. Eng registered with APEGA or a Technologist Diploma registered as a R.E.T with ASET
  • 15+ years of accomplished experience in facilities and pipeline engineering and design in the oil and gas industry
  • 5-10 years of management experience managing and motivating a diverse workforce of project engineers and technical staff
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team including process, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English required
