Office-based, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering activities throughout the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams-including engineers, designers, procurement specialists, and construction personnel-to achieve project objectives within scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, identifying critical milestones, tracking progress, and implementing corrective measures as needed.

  • Act as a secondary client and stakeholder contact, providing updates, managing expectations, and addressing concerns throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

  • Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and deliverables for compliance with project, industry, and regulatory standards.

  • Lead procurement activities, including vendor selection, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation, to secure required equipment, materials, and services.

  • Manage and support construction activities, working closely with contractors and vendors to resolve issues and maintain efficient execution.

  • Oversee commissioning and startup activities, ensuring proper testing, inspection, and acceptance of deliverables before handover to operations.

  • Prepare and present project reports, proposals, and presentations to clients, management, and stakeholders.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior and intermediate engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.

  • Maintain good standing with regulatory bodies and pursue ongoing professional development.

     

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA, in good standing.

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience executing facility and/or pipeline-related projects.

  • Expert understanding of industry codes, standards, and guidelines.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholder.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
